Teacher Resource Centers
Current and Planned Teacher Resource Center Projects

The development of Teacher Resource Centers in Honduras has become a vital part of the Friends United Program. Teachers who previously visited the United States for a two-week training trip, requested a teacher resource room similar to ones they had noticed during school tours in the Independence School District.
The first office was established during 2000 in the capital city of Tegucigalpa with help from the Tangible Love Fund of the Community of Christ. Each center requires approximately $5,000 to equip it with a computer, printer/copier, die cutting machine, tables, chairs, and other basic office equipment.
We now have 6 Teacher Resource Centers in the country: Tegucigalpa, Orica, San Marcos de Guaimaca, Juticalpa, La Ceiba, and Tela. We hope to soon reopen an office in San Pedro Sula.
